Itinerary

The archeological Museum is located in the heart of downtown Rabat, the museum exhibits discovered remains of excavations of Banassa, Volubilis, Thameside and other archaeological sites. If you enjoy visiting museums, the Archaeological Museum in Morocco is a must-see. Built in 1932, the original museum has since been greatly enlarged in order to provide adequate housing for the ever-expanding plethora of archaeological discoveries that have been found in Morocco. The building itself has been the site of the National Museum Collection since 1986 and it certainly has a lot to offer the average visitor. Worth a visit with some great pieces beautifully displayed. Of particular relevance if you intend visiting the archaeological site at Volubilis. However the most fascinating display in the Archaeological Museum has to be that belonging to the Pre-Roman and Roman civilizations that were once so prominent in the parts of Africa surrounding the Mediterranean. Here you will find Hellenistic-style bronze sculptures of exceptional quality. The collections cover prehistoric periods, Paleolithic periods and Neolithic periods, thus taking you on a steady journey through time. More
The Grand Mosque is also located within Rabat’s Medina and it was built by Sidi Mohammed ben Abdallah in the 18th century. Since then, the mosque was renovated several times. It is very beautiful in its decorations and its Minaret dominates the city. More
Get a wonderful evening watching Rigoletto with the Moroccan Philharmonic. The theatre is quite large and the acoustics are wonderful for opera. The seats are surprisingly comfortable. It has a great location exactly in the heart of Rabat. The facilities are great and the hall itself is very huge. Sound distribution is good in there. More
Morocco is a marketplace with historical and cultural significance. It is located on Muhammad V Boulevard, among the colonial architecture of the 20th century, facing the Central Market Tramway Station. a broad selection of stalls, Primarily a fish market but without that strong fishy smell. Strong competition from small eateries on perimeter of market to get you to select your fish of choice which they then prepare & serve to you alongside salad, bread, etc. There's also stalls of fresh fruit & veg and flower stalls. A genuine, for better , Casablanca experience. More
